GROOVIN' THE MOO finished for another year

Well we are all very exhausted, but very satisfied. The weather looked like causing some problems, but by 1 o'clock the clouds drifted away and we had a wonderful afternoon and glorious evening.

And the crowd was awesome, excited, high energy, with no aggro. Just what a festival should be. A wonderful vibe all afternoon, so thanks a bunch to all who came along.

A big thanks to the teams of volunteers who helped out on the day with the VIP pavillion, backstage, ticketing and other various bits and pieces. Special mention to the Kurri Kurri Youth Group, the Maitland TAFE, the Maitland Lions Club, the SES, St Johns Ambulance, Lakin, Karen, Suse, Cam, Gisa, Wendy, Mary, Catherine, Joe and everyone else.

We had some noise complaints on the day with the Maitland Mayor wanting to "pull the pin". The police were fantastic. They assessed the situation, monitored the sound levels, backed their judgement and made the correct decision to keep the show going. Apologies to nearby residents who were inconvenienced on the day. Next year we will re-configure the stage to minimise the noise impact. However this is a small sacrifice to make in order provide a great day for the youth of the region.

And yes we'll have more toilets next year!

We had a great team of sponsors including the Cambridge Hotel, triple j, Bluetongue, Bundaberg, the Newcastle Herald, Moshtix, Drum Media, Faster Louder and the Clubhouse Hotel. A special thanks to the team from Ruffneck Promotions for putting together a great package.

The Cambridge Band Comp was a big success and is something that will continue next year. Congratulations to Nothing Days for opening the day and doing a great job. Thanks to all the bands who entered. There is some great talent in the region, so get out there and check it out.

Until next time......

Here are some great photos from the day and evening. Thanks to Liane Audrins, Ross Carroll and Mellissa Kavenagh for the great snaps!
